what's with them Rockets

i really don't know what to say about the Rockets anymore.. when they brought in T-Mac, the Rockets was touted to have the best inside out combination comparable to Kobe and Shaq during their heydays with the Lakers..all the Rockets need to do was to find enough talent to surround their 2 best players to win games..

now it's been almost 4 years.. and still they can't win a 1st round playoff game..Van Gundy is out of the picture now and they were hoping that Rick Adelman, new GM Darel Morey and the resigning of Mike James, Luis Scola and Steve Francis would help the Rockets become a real contender for the 2007/2008 season... they looked really loaded on paper...unfortunately this is how they stand after 22 games

an 11-11 record and they lost to both the 76'ers and Raptors

i mean come on.. a team loaded with 2 All Stars, 1 former All Stars should not be that bad.. so what do u guys think about the new look Rockets? are they a real contender or just a pretender?

I'm one of those long suffering fans of the Rockets. So don't get me started, I can write endlessly about them! ;)

I also thought with a new head coach, they will play more offensively, but with an ageing superstar, and a slow center, it seems that they need to rely more on their defensive play.

And don't get me started on Steve Francis. Never liked him, and I can never understand why they need to resign him. Mike James is an erratic shooter, even worse than I am at times. And consistency is never their strongpoint, and being in the toughest division, it's sickening to see them having to play Spurs and Mavs over and over again (and losing!).

That being said, they will struggle again this season, and making it to the playoffs will indeed be a miracle.

And do you know they beat Pistons today, but only because Pistons were shooting 36%. Luckily both teams sucked when it come to FT!

i don't know what the Rockets was thinking during the draft and also when signing free agents.. i do understand that Shane Battier can win games without scoring (well he is a role player) but Rudy Gay has too much potential just to let go (Gay is averaging 15pts a game now and can really be a 3rd scoring option)

anyway, we all know that the rockets are really having a huge problem at the PF position.. i mean we all know that Yao is not tough enough to grab all those rebounds.. so what's with having 4 PG and just 2 PF? Luis Scola seems to have potential but still he's new in the NBA, and please, don't play Shane Battier @ PF because he's NOT A PF..

i really don't like where their season is going right now with games against the Mavs and Magic (where Dwight Howard is averaging like 25/15) coming right up...

this year is starting to turn towards its ugly side with the Rockets playing worse that when they're with supposedly weaker supporting cast and my beloved Longhorns had a 3 loss season again and with the final game lost to A&M being the 1st 2 consecutive losses to A&M as far as i can remember watching college football.. :(
